The day of our wedding…September 8, 2018. I remember waking up at 530am on Saturday morning and feeling so ready and anxious to get the day started. Mike and I had worked so hard to put our wedding together. We were both extremely exhausted, but excited to see our wedding vision come to life and to celebrate with family and friends.
Once all the girls got here (my bridesmaids), we laughed, gabbed, ate and had champagne! We got our make-up and hair done and then quickly put on our dresses for our first look.
Mike and I originally planned on doing a first look, but the girls were totally against it. So, we went to our meeting place, held hands and talked, but we not see each other. So, it was like a first look, but a little different. This all took place at the Briars Resort.
At the Briars, the girls and I took some more photos and group shots and then headed to my mom’s farm for the ceremony.
Our ceremony was held in the back forest of the farm. We had arranged to have golf carts shuttle our guests to the ceremony.
Our ceremony chairs were clear ghost chairs, paired with a program card that I had made and set on each chair.
The ceremony arch was a large macramé piece that my mom had made, held up by two cedar tree posts. The flowers on the arch, the two pillars of flowers and the rose petals along the isle was done by Room to Bloom.
My bouquet, the girls ring bouquets, the boutonnieres and corsages were also done by Room to Bloom.
Next week, I will post Part 2 – The Ceremony and Reception of our wedding. If you have any questions, please comment below!
