  • Ikea Kitchen Paint Refresh & New Hardware

Friends! We have a new kitchen!!! Well, same kitchen, but new colour!!! Last week, Mike and I had our Bodbyn Ikea kitchen painted… and we are soooo happy with how beautiful it turned out!

Originally, we wanted to remove our uppers and change the backsplash and so on….but we didn’t want to go into all that trouble when our kitchen is in perfect working order and less than two years old. So, we opted to paint the cabinets and to change out the hardware!

To paint the cabinets, we didn’t want to take on this project ourselves, so we hired a professional cabinet painter (I will leave his contact below). Our painter first removed all the doors and drawers to prep and paint in his workshop. Next, he taped off the entire kitchen and sprayed the cabinets. We painted the uppers Chantilly Lace (white) by Benjamin Moore and the bottoms Onyx (black) also by Benjamin Moore. Once the cabinets were dry, our painter installed the doors and drawers.

To complete the cabinet look, we wanted to add brass knobs and pulls! Schaub & Co Cabinet Hardware were generous enough to send us the most BEAUTIFUL and lux hardware that we have ever seen. The hardware quality is INSANE and it really completes our kitchen look… we couldn’t be more thankful for their amazing product! Thank you, Schaub & Co.!

Mike and I are so in love with our new kitchen and we can’t wait to add the custom range hood and to enjoy/entertain in this space!

Oh my goodness this is gorgeous! I also love that you admittedley updated your colours only 2 years after installing the kitchen – it makes me feel less crazy for thinking to do the same!

I totally believe if you don’t like something, change it!
