Good Morning! Today, I’m finally sharing our home office refresh with you. We started this transformation during the global pandemic and since then, we have gotten a lot of use out of our new and improved office space.
To refresh our office, we partnered with Benjamin Moore and chose a moody but elegant blue. My husband, Mike works in this home office 99% of the time, so I wanted to use a colour that we both loved.
For a more dramatic look, we painted the entire room the same colour.. and it turned out great! For the walls and ceiling, we used the Benjamin Moore Regal Select Premium Interior Paint and Primer Ulti-Matte Finish in the colour Water’s Edge 1635 by Benjamin Moore. For the doors and trim, we used Regal Select Semi-Gloss Finish, also in the colour Water’s Edge 1635 by Benjamin Moore. We used a matte finish for the walls and ceiling and a semi-gloss finish for the doors and trim. The change in finishes helped to break up the walls and the trim while being the same colour. I feel that this gives the room more dimension/contrast while using one colour.
To style this space, we switched out the old wall art and added a black and white piece to the north wall and a round mirror with a wood frame to the wall above the sofa. For furniture, we pulled Mike’s tanker desk back in, his mid century desk chair and a vintage cooler that we use to hide the printer and my camera gear. We also added in our blue velvet vintage sofa and a beige toned printed rug.
This new office space is perfect for us as Mike works from the desktop while I work from the sofa on my laptop. We’re also happy about adding in the vintage sofa, as it can be used for additional sleeping arrangements if our guest bedroom is full.
Thank you again, Benjamin Moore for choosing to work with me! I really appreciate it and we are so happy with how the home office turned out. Friends.. what do you think?!
