Last week, I purchased a vintage white metal bistro set from our local antique shop. I’ve been looking for a metal set that could easily be left in a garden and not need a ton of maintenance. As we are currently living at my moms until our new property is ready, I wanted to create an outdoor space that kinda felt like “us”. Mike and I enjoy dinner parties and especially an outdoor dinner party.
I’ve styled the table in two different ways. The first being, a more relaxed dinner party for two and the second a more formal garden dinner party for four. For the more relaxed space, I moved the set under my mom’s pergola covered in vines for an english garden vibe. Next, I swapped out the white metal chairs for two IKEA wicker chairs with striped pillows. I added a blue & white tablecloth, a vase of hydrangeas, wood beads and brass candleholders to the table top. I also added my blue and white garden stool for more colour. – Already, Mike and I have been enjoying out morning coffees here.
For the more formal garden dinner space, I moved the set to the lawn under the willow and guelder-rose trees. I used the metal chairs for this space along with a fully set table. I used french toile plates, linen napkins and clear water glasses to set the table. I reused the tablecloth, vase of flowers and the blue and white garden stool. I also added in my marble salt and pepper set and brass candlesticks to finish the space off.
I just love how easy this little set is. Like I mentioned, it’s really low maintenance, I don’t have to worry about covering it at night and even looks cute on it’s own without the tablecloth and place setting. I also think these metal sets are timeless and something you’ll bring out every summer. I hope this post inspires you to create an outdoor dinner party vibe! You can shop the look below.
